Itinerary in contemporary art
You may know the Musée d'art de Joliette as an exceptional venue to appreciate Western art works from the Middle Ages to today. Yet beyond the museum’s walls, we also develop website programs to diversify and enhance public access to our permanent collections.
Itinerary in contemporary art is our most recent project developed in collaboration with the portal Connexion-Lanaudière and the support of the Department of Canadian Heritage’s Canadian Culture Online program. This website allows those who cannot come to the museum to access our collections and builds on the Musée d’art de Joliette’s key roles of visual arts awareness, education and learning. The new site also underscores the importance of the museum’s collection both nationally and internationally.
By introducing people to contemporary art works and resituating their artistic and cultural contexts, Itinerary in contemporary art offers an informative and thought-provoking tool to stimulate the curiosity of both younger and older audiences towards our aesthetic heritage while highlighting the interdisciplinarity of artistic practices we showcase.
Have a wonderful visit!
